Doyin Owobamirin

Arts Entrepreneur, Consultant, and President of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Chicagoland

Doyin Owobamirin holds a B.A in Dramatic Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife (1996) and an M.A in Arts Management from University of Abuja (2009). He is an International Fellow of the Devos Institute of Art Management, University of Maryland, and the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC, USA. As a writer, actor, director, producer, and arts entrepreneur, Doyin has made significant contributions to the arts and cultural sectors both in Nigeria and internationally.

Career Highlights:

  • Former Artistic Director-in-Residence of the Ogun State Performing Troupe.

  • Arts Fellow, Department of Performing Arts, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

  • Special Creative Assistant on ICT and Communication for Abuja Carnival.

  • Co-Editor of the Washington Nigeria Post.

Over the last five years, Doyin has worked as an Arts Management Consultant for a variety of private organizations and government agencies, including:

  • MUSON Centre

  • Abuja Metropolitan Music Society (AMEMUSO)

  • ArtSpeak, New Jersey

  • Globalcom Nigeria

  • Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives

  • LifeArt, Lagos

  • Several State Councils for Arts and Culture (Ogun, Ekiti, Kogi, Nassarawa).

Leadership and Entrepreneurship:
Doyin is the CEO of Fitila LLC, a media company, and the founder of the Taste of Africa Festival in the USA. He also serves as the Board Chairman of Artistes Care Trust (ACT) Foundation, Nigeria, and is the President of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) Chicagoland. Additionally, he chairs the NIDOA USA Board of Directors.

Ordained as a Pastor at Divine Pentecostal Church of God in 2016, Doyin continues to combine his passion for arts and culture with his commitment to community development and spiritual growth.
